Greek Pelte type Shield

The Pelte shield was a ‘half moon’ design used to protect the carrier whist still enabling a spread to be thrust forward. Use by many armies from the Mediterranean and Middle Eastern area. This is an example of one of our practical shields used for stunt fighting. It is constructed from sturdy Plywood and covered in leather. The reverse side has padding and holding straps. It measures 60cm in diameter.
