Italian 16th Century- Transition type small sword and dagger set- Engraved Brass

This is a replica of an Italian small sword and dagger set as seen in the 16th century. It is what we call a transition sword type where the traditional cruciform type sword is getting smaller and more highly decorated. With the suggestion of the start of the swept hilt which later became an integral part of Swept hilt and basket hilt Rapier swords.
It is a good quality sword and dagger set with engraved brass pommels and a decorated scabbard. This style of sword was worn as a display of status as well as being practical as weapons.
